Last time I used this blog I was doing Whole30 (which I do not recommend, and if you want to know more
about how much I do NOT recommend Whole30, let me know).
This time, circumstances are much different. Like many people, I’m largely working from home right now in an effort to “flatten the curve”
and prevent the spread of Covid-19. So, for the next few weeks my posts will be tailored more toward cooking healthy, delicious meals
with pantry staples so it isn’t buttered noodles and frozen burritos every night.
To begin, here’s a list of ingredients I have in my pantry that I recommend you stock up on if you still have access to a grocery store.
Here in LA it’s almost impossible to get groceries now, but I’m sure in the less hard-hit areas you can still walk into a store and buy a can of beans.
We took so much for granted a week ago! Simpler times indeed.
- Chickpeas (loyal readers know this is my favorite food)
- Black beans
- Pinto beans
- Cannellini/white beans
- Pasta of various shapes and sizes
- Canned soups (esp. Cream of Mushroom if you want to get into casserole making when things take a turn for the worse)
- Canned Veggies (Tomatoes, green beans, peas, corn)
- Canned Tuna (yeah I eat tuna now what of it??)
- Grains like Oats, rice, lentils and quinoa
- Eggs!!!
- Butter!!! (Freeze it!)
- Good Bread!!!!!! (Freeze it!)
- Potatoes
- Sweet Potatoes
- Onions
- Garlic
- Brussels Sprouts (These last way longer than the average greens/veggies)
- American Cheese (don’t @ me, it never goes bad)
- Plain whole-fat greek yogurt
- Tofu
- Citrus Fruits
- Avocado (I’m only half kidding)
- Oils/Seasonings/Spices
- Trader Joe’s Delicacies like Furikake Seasoning, Chili Onion Crunch, and Umami Powder are highly!!! Recommended!!!! If!!! Possible!!!!
